CAAHDER was internationally recognized for its health research in 2021. in 2018, a community-based health organization serving Black American populations primarily through health services, health research, and outreach to and within communities which have gained national status. I also mentor graduate and undergraduate students, who are women in conducting research with and for diverse Black women.Īs an awarded social and behavioral health scientist with an emphasis in Health Communication, I founded and served as CEO of the national non-profit Center for African American Health Disparities Education and Research (CAAHDER), Inc. As a womanist researcher, I go to where the work needs to be done to highlight the voices of Black women's health. More recently, I have focused my research and practice on serving Black women. I developed health programming and conducted research for and with communities of color to aid in the reduction of health inequities and the resultant disparities in Black communities across the nation and internationally.
